I see we're going to spend time using support for rent control as a litmus test for whether someone is really a leftist or not. Cool, cool.

I take it the NAACP is interested in the financial protection of black commerce, including real-estate, landlords ect. I know quite a few middle income Black families who are landlords in East Oakland, the types to be part of the NAACP and oppose Prop 10.

The idea that stronger rent controls will result in more conversion to owner-occupied housing is not new. That happened in San Francisco, so we largely banned condo conversions, but the pressure is so intense that people TIC now.
