State taxes at the top are what, 9 percent? Huge numbers of Bay Area renters are paying 60 percent or more of income on housing - and those folks by and large aren’t in the top bracket

Mmm I have friends looking for properties in Miami, just so they can save from having to pay an obscene amount of property tax for their place in the hills and not deal with state income tax. Cost of living is high, yes. Worse when you own something.
