So many teacher housing plans assume we’re longing to live together in apartment buildings, when many of us—especially with families—want no such thing. There are other workable options (e.g. Daly City’s solution, which makes the purchase of single family homes a possibility).

This is not commentary on building new housing units for the public, but rather how to retain teachers. We’re not all nuns.
