Business journalism is practiced from the lens of shareholders and investors, which is different from accountability in a broad public sense. The whole core assumption of someone trained from a biz journalism background is diff than someone from local or govt journalism.

I remember chatting with some biz journalism colleagues during the recent massive Intel chip flaws (Spectre/Meltdown). Common response: It doesn't matter because Intel has a monopoly on certain types of chips, so this isn't going to impact bottom line as customers have no choice.
