Well let's see. Between the beginning of Southern Reconstruction and 1954, thousands of people were lynched, denied equal educational opportunity, incarcerated in internment camps, denied the right to vote, excluded from citizenship on the basis of national origin.

We had a few landmark cases that expanded civil and human rights between 1954 and Obergefell, but the decisions of the Trump era court show how tenuous those gains were. Voting rights are under attack by this court, as are women's rights to medical care.
