Things are pretty bleak for the 1976-85 cohort. Just maybe not enough time to catch up before fertility windows close.

I imagine this cohort is largely suburbanized already. Honestly if you're early 30s to early 40s and definitely want kids you've already aligned your life/costs at least somewhat already. Otherwise a middle-income 40 y.o. in a big city is fooling themselves.
