How much does SFO bring in? Airports are typically profitable in the US, no?

Hi David - SFO's budget for next fiscal year is ~$1.1 billion - of that about $700 million is revenue from charges for service & about $300 million is from rents/concessions. You can learn more at https://sfmayor.org/sites/default/files/CSF_Budget_Book_May_2018_1_Final_Color_LR.pdf … (pg. 19) [WARNING that link opens a large PDF doc]

it's funny how different the East Bay is. We got so many independently elected agencies! We have EBMUD, they have San Francisco Public Utilities Commission We have AC Transit, they have Muni [less perfect comparison:] We have EBRP, they have SF Rec & Parks

Actually (if I'm doing this right) if you take into account population growth and inflation, it's only 2.3% budget growth per year on averagepic.twitter.com/bvbdRe5opv

We can’t afford this. Tax, Fee, Spend, Repeat. We’re creating a city that only the very wealthy can afford. I fear people are just getting “tax tired” and will just vote down all new revenue sources good or bad.

I don't even register City taxes and fees, and would happily pay more. That's not what is making the City tough for lower income people
