Here's why tech protests in SF aren't nativism but rather a cry for help. A prerequisite to any inclusive city like the once refuge haven of San Francisco, now billionaire castle, is affordability. If tech is creating unaffordability, that stops it from being inclusive.

Does California really differ that much? In many states property tax might stay local, but it mostly goes towards schools, so it doesn't help the landuse authority any. Cities being funded by sales tax seems pretty typical.
