Okay but why do the tech bus/scooter thing?

Tech shuttles are symbols of gentrification & a private transit system used by rich tech workers, and there's some evidence the stops drive up housing, so protesting them is very relevant to the housing/inequality/gentrification problems facing the Mission.

is this what they are saying? why can't we just believe people have the views that they state they have ("Fuck Google")?

Why are they saying fuck Google though? Because Google is a multibillion dollar company that employs almost no minorities (and certainly almost none from the Mission, etc.) and has driven demand that, along w/a housing undersupply, unleashed displacement hell in the Mission.

No, I'm going off of what anti-gentrification activists say time & again when spoken to in person. It might not be the soundbites that are quoted, and I'm sure some people are just reflexively anti-tech, but I think most are genuine in feeling left out & savaged by these firms.

Which tenant groups? I like
@TheCoalitionSF. It’s too bad there is no solid mayor figure in the house to cut them a deal for higher homelessness funding in any kind of business tax reform/overhaul. But unfortunately, we will be in total chaos until 2020.1 reply 0 retweets 5 likes -

hey folks - can't take credit for this but it is our understanding that tech workers + tenant groups worked on it! members of our coalition were there in support.

I don’t personally count on any of the politicians... both parties have contributed to the crisis. But something that could make a real impact is this.... https://www.ourcityourhomesf.org/

I'd be much more in favor of spending more if we could simultaneously improve the way the current budget is being spent. So far our results-per-dollar are very disappointing.
