More details on USFK furlough notice for SKorean workers from packed town hall at Camp Humphreys. They’re hoping it won’t happen. Said final decision expected by end of Feb. Only appropriated fund staff would be affected, not NAF organizations. That means business as usual at Arby’s, Burger King and other restaurants and community facilities but reduced hours likely for post office, non-emergency maintenance work, ID department etc.

Many speakers criticized US demands for steep increase. One asked if they’ll get a fivefold raise if South Korea agrees to pay 5 times more. Others worried about getting fired. ‘Nobody knows what will happen after we are furloughed. I feel that we are hostages.'
