I think it was "protocol", as Korea was a UN police action. I would think there may have been an official ceremony transferring the remains from UN to US jurisdiction. In any case, they are coming home.
Interesting that the remains were draped with American flags for the Hawaii ceremony after being covered in UN flags for the send-off from SKorea.
