Proud to be a panelist at launch of funded Katchi Abadis (slums) ASER report. Children in slums in Karachi & Lahore are being seriously left behind in their learning, and which type of school they attend further compounds low learning levels.

Interesting session. A sense of the scale of returning to school in Pakistan after lockdown means reopening ~300,000 schools with ~2 million teachers to teach 50 million students - all returning during September and under strict covid-safe procedures.

Exciting new role as Education Team Leader , working with a great team delivering fabulous results eg. more than 2m additional children in school in 2019/20. With over 20m children out of school and the 3rd worst literacy rate in the world lots still to be done.

Aim of the WG questions is to understand the interaction of how people’s functional ability is limited by the environment. Questions had to be able to be asked in a census - so short!!
