Backup and/or commit often.

This is a mistake or advice to actually do? I think it is advice but love the backstory if you made a mistake doing a backup or commit too often :P

#1 mistake: I didn’t believe I was qualified/knowledgeable enough to get into infosec.

I thought I needed to know everything across the entire spectrum of security. Now I realize that is an absolutely absurd goal.

I have made two major mistakes in my life/career. 1) I have let my bullies change me 2) I have neglected self-care for too long

yup...too many of us fail to make self care a priority. I have to frame it as recharging is important for productivity to make sure I make time for it. I now schedule it in like I would anything else.
