Sorry, guys, about the venting. Just one of those “off” days
she told me that baestie probably left & won’t come back because I fed his ego. Apparently, NTs need games (ex: cat & mouse, push/pull, etc) in relationships & I’m just: I pick you. You are awesome. We hang forever.

I hate NT social games. Makes me feel like Rudolf. Minor upside... They might not even realize they are doing it...

Like, you mean they don’t realize they are playing games? They really exhaust me
It just seems so much easier to say, “I like you. Let’s team up forever.” Instead of: ok, can’t text for 3 days; don’t let him think you’re interested; don’t compliment; pretend, pretend, pretend!1 reply 0 retweets 1 like -

Dead on... I honestly believe it may be something like this: “I think you’re awesome! Let’s be friends! I want to be in your life!” “Ewwww no! Get away!” Dejected...”ok”... goes away... Several days later... “Hey Heath! How are you doin’? Missed you!” “Whhhhhhaaaaaatttt?”

I think open honest language has the same effect for some NTs, that say, touch does for some
#autistic folk. They go into panic mode. Pure speculation here...1 reply 1 retweet 3 likes -

Maybe because they read so much more into language? If I say, “I like you” Or “I think you’re attractive” or “I’d like to spend more time with you” I DON’T mean “Let’s get romantic” or “Let’s date” or “wanna have sex?” I would have said those. But they often do.

The “I like you” phrase is the most confusing phrase because an NT can say it & it means, “I really like you in a romantic way” or it means, “I’ll never like you in a romantic way”
I’m like “slow down, let’s be friends first” which means, “I am going to fall in love with you2 replies 0 retweets 1 like
but I need space & time to do so because I get overwhelmed easy & don’t want to lose you” but it’s ALWAYS misinterpreted as “let’s just be friends” & they move on
I meant literally: Let’s be friends FIRST!
