The speech today by M Barnier, the EU negotiator on BREXIT, proves beyond doubt that the EU is scheming against the pro UK majority in Northern Ireland and is trying to encourage a United Irekabd by stealth . The DUP, as largest NI party, should be lobbying EU national leaders!

Wrong! The Irish created the border by exiting the UK and they must now accept the consequences. BREXIT will damage Southern Ireland more than any other EU nation. The Irish must eventually come up with answers and stop pretending there is no problem!

No, the unionists created the border by exiting the Free State. Were you not taught about the Ulster month in secondary school?

There's no country called "Southern Ireland", John. Doesn't exist.

Nobody in Ireland is pretending there is no problem. We have put forward many suggestions for resolving them, but you reject them because you appear to be hoping the Brexit-induced damage will eventually force Ireland to exit the EU and become dependent on your country again.

The Republic *is*dependent on the UK now tho. & That's the trouble. Joint Irish/UK EU membership simply allowed that fact to be disguised, so it didn't matter. Now it does. The question is how to close the door on the UK with the least hurt to the Republic.

That sounds like a pretty strong endorsement for an island wide reunification referendum of Ireland in accordance with the GFA.

You misrepresent the Belfast Agreement of which I was one of the authors. It did not propose any island wide referendum - it proposed two separate referendums in Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland which is totally different!!
