    I’ll never get over my euphoric delight when my nephew told me his Catholic private school mascot was “Martyrs”—followed by immediate disappointment when he corrected my poor hearing to “Pirates.” Please, please let there be the mighty Martyrs out there somewhere.

    (I’ve had to switch to vegan baking to accommodate my kids’ allergies, and I swear by these chocolate chip cookies, vegan or not: I add a dash of vanilla and also just straight up lightly sprinkle a table salt shaker over the tops before baking.)

    The best thing you can do to support authors and books you love is to talk about their books. Post about them, write reviews on retail sites, share fan art or book photos, pester your friends, finally put that three week skywriting course you took to good use.

    to 7yrs ago when I did original art portraits on 70 covers of IN THE SHADOWS, my collaborative novel w/ mega-talent ⁦⁦⁩ (pub’d by ⁦⁩). Here’re 47 of them. They were done for promos & as thx to early supporters. Had a BLAST on this book
