August 1993 back in CA? That's weird. In June 1993, she was in D.C. and allegedly moved with Ted to North Dakota, as she was pregnant. In one article she claimed the winter was too much; in another she said after a few months she went back to Calif. More inconsistencies.

If her bank were still in SLO (or her mom’s bank?) that’s where the case would be. Even if she was writing the checks in DC.

If you pull up the full statue on Find law, the amount of the check determines the level of the charge.
