      When tutoring my daughter on @KhanAcademy, I noticed that many pages took 3 or 4 seconds to load. Is it because of Google App Engine?

      I do hope that your backend developer can take a look at the conversation 185842 in Zendesk. KA backend takes more than 4 seconds to generate one dynamic response, something really worth taking a look at.

          I do not know if KA is using GAE datastore. Based on my past experience, due to its distributed nature, some queries could be very slow (>1s) and cost a lot in your hosting bills.
