Arvind Krishna has a fully earned Ph.D. In Computer Engineering from the University of Illinois (1991). He was previously the head of IBM research and I assure you he actually knows more about how Quantum Computing works than anyone snidely commenting on this thread.

I can't help thinking he doesn't know anywhere near as much about quantum computing as Scott Aaronson. And I have a degree in computer science, and can't speak with any authority about quantum computers, either.

Scott wasn’t contributing to the thread. The thread started with a partial quote from a much longer blog Scott wrote. And if you actually read his entire blog you will see he’s actually mildly complimentary of the entire experience of the Davos panel.

Fair point, there's no question of his intelligence. However, what did he achieve by his statement? There are any number of more truthful ways to explain quantum computing.
