Read the horror that is Scott Aaronson's account of how quantum computing is discussed at Davos: https://www.scottaaronson.com/blog/#jan23 Here is a quote from a senior vice president at IBM:pic.twitter.com/WGg1MLxmxp

Thanks for keeping us snarkoleptics in line a bit.
I will point out, though, that your comment is probably not literally correct. There are some real quantum computing researchers in this thread.
I can't help thinking he doesn't know anywhere near as much about quantum computing as Scott Aaronson. And I have a degree in computer science, and can't speak with any authority about quantum computers, either.
Scott wasn’t contributing to the thread. The thread started with a partial quote from a much longer blog Scott wrote. And if you actually read his entire blog you will see he’s actually mildly complimentary of the entire experience of the Davos panel.
Also, he is graduate of my alma mater - IIT Kanpur. ..and India's latest budget has LOTS of money for quantum computing/AI/research .. not bad.
Fair point, there's no question of his intelligence. However, what did he achieve by his statement? There are any number of more truthful ways to explain quantum computing.
