I have a similar but opposite experience, because I'm a man in a very female-dominated field and workplace. I deal with similar things (on a much smaller scale, mind you). My coworkers can get away with saying and doing so much because "he's a man, he can handle it"
Honestly, most are great and I get along really well with them, but there are so many little things where I just have to shake my head. The good far outweighs the bad in my case.
