Things I’ve been told by men in the game industry over the last 10 years: - Smile more - You’re too emotional - I can see you’re getting mad - It’s fine if your shirt is too low, you’ll get more views that way - Do you even play games or do you just stand there and look pretty
- Your email was too abrasive - You’re being too pushy - You were put on this project because they expected you to fail - Are you single? - I bet you’re shit at games - That’s a dumb idea - You didn’t get the promotion (no reason)
If you or someone you know has said one of these things to a woman in the industry, whether it be game dev or content creator, think long and hard about it. And don’t fucking do it again.

Sadly it’s something that I expect, especially at events. Fortunately, I’ve never once had to deal with anything like that while working in Blizzard Animation.
