Things I’ve been told by men in the game industry over the last 10 years: - Smile more - You’re too emotional - I can see you’re getting mad - It’s fine if your shirt is too low, you’ll get more views that way - Do you even play games or do you just stand there and look pretty
- Your email was too abrasive - You’re being too pushy - You were put on this project because they expected you to fail - Are you single? - I bet you’re shit at games - That’s a dumb idea - You didn’t get the promotion (no reason)
If you or someone you know has said one of these things to a woman in the industry, whether it be game dev or content creator, think long and hard about it. And don’t fucking do it again.

I am sorry. I’ve been told most of these and then some. It sucks. It’s not okay.
I’m sorry too. I’m just glad that I’m not alone in these experiences, and there are lots of people striving to make it better.
ugh. i'm sorry that you've had to deal with this. for what it's worth, you've been my favorite producer i've ever worked with. any team is lucky to have you on it. i literally could not have done my job as a lead without you
