Despite me pouring my heart into my work, it seemed like that person never paid attention. I felt like garbage and cried for days. I felt like I had failed, and it stuck with me for years. I saw a therapist, and still am, because my anxiety and impostor syndrome got so bad. 3/
However, I slowly began to realize it wasn't me. For the first time ever, last year, I thought "I'm good at what I do". I hope that person realizes the lasting impact words can have. And the fact that they were so unbelievably wrong. They can politely go suck it. 4/
I love my job and my team, and I have the best boss ever, @garrickm. Not even my dad says he's proud of me, but Garrick does 
In short, don't let anyone discourage you from doing what you love.
