I was told I didn’t seem passionate about being a producer, and I’m too emotional to be a good one.
I successfully ran a $4.4M crowdfunding campaign at @Obsidian, and went on to produce amazing cinematics with @Blizzard_Ent.
And guess what? I am goddamn passionate about my job.https://twitter.com/jesslynnrose/status/1108765817989222400 …

Emotion in a producer is vital. People can sense your passion in a project - they can tell if you are invested or not, and in artistic projects emotional investment is how you get your best work. A good producer will make even the most mundane job an exciting one!

So well said, thank you!
I think it’s also a matter of having a level of empathy for the people you’re managing. If someone is unhappy, I don’t say “I don’t care”, I listen to them and try to solve the problem.1 reply 0 retweets 2 likes -
This!I think a good producer understands people-knows how they ebb and flow during the day, week, or month.Understanding the emotional state of one person can be a lynchpin in how an entire group reacts - you have to be empathetic to do that.
