Dealing with a really hard situation. Khan’s behavior has reverted to when I first got him 5 years ago. Tried to put a sweater on him, which he’s always been fine with, and he lunged at my face. Didn’t get me. At what point do you look at an abused and traumatized 1/2

I’d suggest speaking to your vet. I don’t know any details about your dog. Maybe he’s starting to get arthritis and you hit a sore spot? Maybe he’s just done with fashion accessories as a concept.
-
Note any additional behavioral changes: appetite, water intake, changes in energy level and responsiveness, and give this to your vet as well (if any are present).

Have been through this twice. Your wisdom will guide even as your heart grieves. Fwiiw it sounds like you know what is next even though it sucks. Hope this is somewhat helpful Katrina

If it’s a little more sudden after years of it being somewhat okay, I would get him checked out. We had a rescue like that, started getting better but towards the end he got more aggressive. Turned out to be brain tumors. Sending good vibes.

Good thinking. It may also be "sundowner's", which a lot of old people go through, but animals apparently go through it as well.

I’m so sorry love. Sometimes there are organizations that will take in dogs with severe behavioral issues. It’s absolutely awful to feel betrayed like that though. Love and support.

Unfortunately he’s gotten worse over the last few months and has almost bitten me over 10 times, with really random triggers. One of these times he won’t miss
I don’t think any place would take him now, since he’s almost 13. - Show replies
