I will say, as a kid the scariest part of The Shining was the rotting naked lady in the shower. But that's not exactly the demographic.
totally agreed. I will forever be a fan of Silent Hill and the horror games with a crushing, gritty atmosphere that makes you scared to walk around. Way more effective than jump scares IMO.

It Follows was extremely anxiety-inducing in theater. I was also the only person in the theatre. Do you remember the creepy voice in Dragon Age Origins in the dwarf dungeon? That was a cool moment for me.
