It is with great sadness that I let you know that Bklyner will stop publishing on September 10, with no immediate date or plans for resuming. It's been an honor serving you all.

How do you verify your customers can consent to getting a credit card if they can't speak English? If I hadn't discovered this issue, you would have ruined her credit.

Hi -- can you explain how my non-English speaking grandmother was issued a Macy's credit card at one of your stores? She wasn't aware of the card. Now she's missed payments. I tried to cancel her card and paid her balance in full, but she's still being charged interest.

1/ Another article's out about the intimidation & retaliation we're facing. If 's mission is "to make the mind more curious, the heart more open, and the spirit more joyful," why are our managers retaliating against us for doing our jobs?

I've heard colleagues say they wanted to be in the newsroom specifically to work with him -- thank YOU, Matthew. (2/2)

When I was an intern, Matthew taught me more than anyone how to write for radio. Since then, he's encouraged and edited my best work. He listens patiently, asks smart questions, distills the noise into strong reporting and pays attention to the nuances too. (1/2)

today’s wnyc layoffs are heartbreaking enough but making things even worse is that senior management won’t tell us who’s been let go. so everybody is just trading names as we learn them - a needlessly painful game of telephone

. and laid off some of the sharpest, most hard-working journalists I know today. Literally the people that glued the place together. and others who haven't posted. Big loss for us, big gain for the newsrooms that scoop them up.

not unique to WNYC or Gothamist, but all of the "now more than ever" rhetoric coming from news orgs - about how crucial they are in this political and pandemic moment - rings hollow when the same outlets see fit to curb their workers in the midst of it all

A great journalist has left the building. has done some of the most impactful reporting you have heard on WNYC over the years — immigration, mental health, politics, Hurricane Maria, and COVID. I have learned SO MUCH from her. you’re getting a real one!
