    Raising loads of money detracts you from focusing on what matters. Large war-chests push you towards optimizations of local maxima, rather than global. Capital doesn't find you PMF. For most startups, a sense of urgency and leanness is critical. Same principles apply in crypto.

    ... oh lawd have mercy. PoW has a fundamentally different approach from PoS in how network is bootstrapped. PoW requires checking weight of chain. PoS just requires some signatures. Honest majority is the *abstraction* that longest-chain/most-votes gives you.

    Ok ... anyway. Nobody is trying to be an "Ethereum killer". We just ported it over and tested the new underlying consensus engine with it. You can use any virtual machine you'd like, Ava is flexible. We just want to provide backwards comp. for developers.

    I'll be talking 09/23 @ 6pm @ Distributed Global. I'll be focusing on how to just directly port over your Ethereum smart contract wholesale to the Ava platform and have it run at 1000s of TPS. Also, I'll talk about smart assets, contract firewalls, sub-networks, etc.
