Proponents of a practice don’t *ever* think there’s anything wrong with what they do. Expecting advocates of male #circumcision to admit it’s abusive, unethical practice is like expecting advocates of #FGM to admit it’s abusive, unethical practice. It’s never going to happen. #i2

Then we need to stop lobbing them and make an END RUN around them by taking the issue directly to the parent-child interface.

I think the best solution is to go to the source and hit ‘em where it hurts; right in the pocket book. This isn’t going to end until it’s a liability to drs rather than an asset. ‘Till then, the best you can do is beg or harass parents not to cut. Good luck with that.

How do you plan to do that? People tried to stage a boycott of Olympic Circumstraint in the 90s which went nowhere. And no, it is about providing severe negative consequences for circumcising your kids & radicalizig young people against circumcision. Look at my tweet last night.

“...it is about providing severe negative consequences for circumcising your kids...” You think it’s feasible to “provide severe negative consequences” for parents who agree to have their children circumcised, rather than indict the few who actually do it?

My solution: 1. Mobilize medical organizations in the West to grow a pair and condemn the practice. This seems likely to happen given increased talks of bans. 2. Mobilize men who resent their circumcision to speak out; men in the world must unite and hold their feet to the fire.

Seems to me nobody really knows how to take intactivism to the next level, and so a multi-prong approach might be best where we all just try whatever we think we can do and see who has the most success after a few years.

Another tactic I think is worth trying is being much more vocal about pointing out the hypocracy of feminist or “progressive” groups or politicians, who preach equality yet say nothing about widespread penis-cutting. They need to know they will be called out for ignoring this.

Also, I think how we frame the issue linguistically is very important too. We shouldn’t call it “circumcision”, b/c that disguises rather than clarifies what is really happening. We should call it what it is: penis-cutting. Much harder for ppl to promote “penis-cutting” than circ

Watch this video. I want everyone to refer to circumcision as "cutting off parts of babies' penises".https://youtu.be/4hUo1JqsB7A
