The more people talk about my pinned thread of threads as a "mini-course" on modern American political history, the more it bugs me that it's not arranged in chronological order. So, here it is, with threads sorted together by era.

Wow, so the White House does believe in cooperating with a congressional investigation, and furnishing documents and witnesses.

THREAD: Today we're republishing almost 200 posts Elizabeth Warren wrote at TPM between 2005 and 2008. Some of these have been available online at the Wayback Machine, many - and the earliest - are back online for the first time in a decade. cc:

Until they make the Business Schools hire Marxist economists I'm gonna guess they're not really concerned about "ideological diversity"

Question for my tweeps: who got screwed over the most by how the clusterfuck that was this year’s Iowa caucuses played out?

What's interesting here is the suggestion that literally the only thing that determines whether you're a Republican is loyalty to Trump. Your views on a whole range of other matters and issues have no relevance whatsoever, even if you agree with Trump on many of them!

  8. What are the odds Lou Dobbs could even *name* half the presidents since Lincoln?

Perhaps you shouldn't assume that you'll be talking to God.

  10. It's been a brutal few days, but I've finally caught up on Schitt$ Creek enough to see the incredibly sweet "Open Mic" episode, so I'm good.

This is a remarkable thread—and fascinating to understand how inherently broken Congress truly is:

As many people are pointing out, the irony of this tweet is that Satan *did,* in fact, quote scripture in the Bible (see: Matthew 4). Which, in a meta-move, would imply that Donald Trump Jr. is...not particularly familiar with scripture.

While Barr was named on Trump's call to the Ukrainian President, he never had to testify or be held accountable in any formal way. As Trump talks about getting even, he's announcing a new policy giving Barr more power over FBI investigations that could involve Trump or his rivals

Cool. Cool. Trump is becoming authoritarian and Dems can't figure out Iowa Caucus. All good. Normal. Nice.

So Treasury is (possibly) handing over SARs for Hunter Biden but is in court to stop Congress from seeing Trump's tax returns as explicitly directed by law.

Republican Vermont Gov. Phil Scott says Trump abused his power and shouldn't be in office. "I believe that the president abused his powers," Scott said. "I didn't vote for the president, and I don't believe that he should be in office."
