The result is textures and sounds that feel organic but not like traditional cello recordings.

and then taking those recordings and sampling them into usable patches and sounds that were then performed. Some of the sounds were processed with various effects, and some were reversed, slowed down, and manipulated to various degrees.

Ghost Piano is an exploration of ambient and flowing piano mixed with long textures of manipulated solo cello using sounds and patches created over a two-year process. The solo textures were captured by recording a cellist over the course of many hours…
