There’s gonna be many people saying what a low quality game this is based on CPL but it’s a seriously complicated game. Switch off your engines and try and understand what is happening.

I believe most Utd fans have the same opinion as mine that whoever the new owner is, I hope that
1) The club is freed of the disgusting debt brought on by the Glazers.
2) A sensible investment plan to develop the club’s infrastructure and long-term goals be planned

I was at the fed discussing a funny blitz game with a WGM. Both of us were laughing our asses off at a rook manoeuvre played in the game.
My finance manager (who does not play chess) was very much amused and asked “can chess really be this fun?” I said “yes, you are missing out”

This beautiful final position actually happened today in Singapore - White played 22.Qxf6!! and after ef 23.d6, Black resigned as there was no defence to the different mating ideas 🤩

Finished tied first at the Vezerkepzo Christmas GM tournament with a score of 6/9. No one came close to making a GM norm which showed how tough this event was. Not my finest performance but proud to play many fighting games with 5 wins and 2 losses. Not bad for a washed out GM 😎

Ending the year playing the Vezerkepzo Christmas GM tournament. I’m co-leading the event with 4.5/6 and hoping to remind myself that I’m still able to play some chess and not just a chess administrator. Happy new year all!

Our top player Tin Jingyao has just turned in another outstanding performance at the Sunway Sitges Chess Festival and is on the brink of breaking 2600. This is a remarkable achievement given that he is a full-time student in one of the most intense university courses in 🇸🇬. 1/2

Have to say that as a professional streamer, Hikaru’s game is still really impressive, and reminds of the time he was touted as a possible challenger for Magnus. Became Chess960 world champion without bringing a coach and then dominating Duda the way he did is pretty sick.

With GM Kevin Goh Wei Ming,in Singapore. Amazingly we were joined for lunch by my old friend, Thomas Luther, a little later. It was such a pleasure to meet these guys. They will bring about a reformation of chess in the island state.

Organisers are generally friendly and apologetic and trying their best but they are simply limited by money. Maybe if Hans wins the case, he can invest part of that 400m in the ecosystem so that being a professional chess player actually becomes a sustainable job 🤣

Low prize fund, not much conditions for GMs, one tournament I saw requires GMs to pay entry fees, many events are cramped within 5 days and the first prize is c.1000 euros. I’ve no good ideas but just feel sorry for the professional who dreams of making a living out of playing.
