    It feels like the start of the next decade of tech. Entrepreneurs seem to be more experienced, more focused & much more empathetic. Markets are extremely large and deep but very narrow. Capital is now long term profit focused.

    Absolutely love reading stories like this... John Phillips angel invested $250k into Shopify at a $3m pre in 2007. He is still, 13 years later, holding more 4m shares. His holdings are worth more than $2bn at the current share price. h/t

    Great conversation. I’ll add: 1. No-code/non-technical tools in all sectors enabling non-technical small teams to compete with giant companies. 2. Continued outsourcing of everything except true core diffienciation of a company / product. Again small + focused teams will win.

    Working for Microsoft cost me $200M I was 23 and I had a zero-risk opportunity to join a startup as employee #1. That startup is now worth $20 billion. Anyone who makes great software will run into situations like this— it's a measure of how valuable software is in the world

    rich people hate taxes, so i propose we rebrand the wealth tax and instead call it "dues" or "membership fee" and then when someone pays over $1 billion in taxes we send them a shiny black card that says "government recognized billionaire". this will work.
