CFIs take note: Private applicant logs a flight w/0.5 hrs day, 0.5 hrs night, & 3 night T/O & Landings. Night T/O & Landings must be done 1 hr after sunset, so at best they did 1 night landing. Applicant doesn't meet night requirements, test cannot start. Sigh ... #DPELife
I thought that you could log night landings at the ending of civil twilight (the FAR 1.1 definition), but for 90-day currency they have to be 1 hr after sunset. For the checkride, do they need to be 1 hr after sunset also?

Yes, a minimum of 10 takeoffs and landings to a full stop during the time period defined in 14 CFR 61.57.
