"While China has some 18,000 miles of high-speed rail, the U.S. has wasted, I think, $3 trillion on military spending. Since 1979 China has not wasted a single penny on war, and that’s why they’re ahead of us. In almost every way.” Jimmy Carterhttps://www.newsweek.com/donald-trump-jimmy-carter-china-war-infrastructure-economy-trade-war-church-1396086 …

"We are done". Sounds extreme. China has improved very rapidly in high tech because its poured enourmous resources into it by printing more money than any country in history. Probably not sustainable. Meanwhile the country inches closer to being an open air prison everyday

"Mientras China tiene unas 18 000 millas de ferrocarril de alta velocidad, EEE UU ha desperdiciado, creo, 3 billones$ en gasto militar.Desde 1979,China no ha desperdiciado ni un céntimo en la guerra,y por eso están por delante de nosotros. En casi todos los sentidos"Jimmy Carter

China is the 2nd biggest military spender in the world, though, both in absolute and relative terms.

Carter has done more as an ex-president than anyone, but he kicked off this whole cycle of endless war to protect American oil interests by sending ships to the Strait of Hormuz in you guessed it...1979.
