This is an incredibly important distinction. State broadcasters are beholden to the state. Public broadcasters are accountable to the public.

Several people, including - shockingly - some BBC presenters, are referring to the BBC as a state broadcaster. It isn't. It's a PUBLIC broadcaster and the difference is real and significant. (Even if some want to pretend it isn't)

Oh that is interesting. Google is sunsetting Optimize and Optimize 360. That's too bad. It was a good A/B testing tool which didn't require a lot of effort.

Ylenia Swierk of says that the publishers that will succeed will build up a habit with their audiences. we’re seeing people leverage push notifications in their apps, newsletters and podcasts to create habit and loyalty.
At the MCC Future of of Publishing conference in Budapest repping Interesting point from that advertising got in the way of publishers’ relationship with their audiences. With the pivot to subscriptions, this has returned an audience focus, he says.
