Then it is incumbent upon Sen. Manchin to deliver the 10 Republicans who will support the bill. He has not been able to do so. The right of Black ppl to vote free from voter suppression should not be held hostage to nostalgia for a political reality that no longer exists.

I will never understand those who call us to “rebel” when the government is trying to save lives… but will bust out Romans 13 and call us to “submit” anytime we oppose government policies that are crushing people’s lives.

A Black woman who was ineligible to vote cast a provisional ballot (which wasn’t counted) & was sentenced to 5 years. A white man broke into the US Capital in an effort to subvert the election & got 8 months.

Too many working North Carolinians don't have access to affordable health insurance. We can change that — and boost our economy — by expanding Medicaid and closing the coverage gap.

Last night I stood up for rate payers across North Carolina & voted NO on HB951. I would have loved to vote for a bill that secures NC’s energy future & shows to our business partners that we’re just as serious about clean energy as they are-but this bill isn’t that. – at North Carolina State Legislative Building

I'm in Colorado for the Clean Energy Legislative Academy, & it's refreshing to see what other states are doing; meanwhile, in NC, we have a house bill pushed through at midnight that will drastically raise rates and fail to meet emissions goals. We can do better; I've seen it.

I was glad to stand up for the ratepayers and vote No on HB951. A 12:01 vote on a bill that falls far short of what North Carolinians deserve is not the way to make public policy.

If you want to know who has had the greatest impact on my approach and commitment to voting rights, without question it is . His Moral Monday marches in 2013 inspired me and taught me what was at stake and how to think about protecting the right to vote.

Franklin Graham in a Facebook post compared Republican lawmakers who voted for Trump impeachment to Judas’ betrayal of Jesus for 30 pieces of silver. If you would like an example of why people are sounding the alarm against Christian Nationalism... Behold.
