One remarkable thing from this panel:

kept referring to people in his jail as "clients" instead of inmates. I wondered if some ppl might feel like this is whitewashing, & in some cases I might agree. But in this case it felt like culture change from the top down

Glad you mentioned this. I noticed it immediately too, like wait what, did he just refer to them (us) as clients? Thank you sir for being the first officer I've ever heard to use humanizing language when referring to incarcerated folks. It deeply matters.

& serve w him on City Council. IMO, he’s the real deal. He did great work, including creating the sobering center to reduce arrests for pub intox. It’s a tough reform, but I believe he’s committed to it. 👍🏼
