We don't treat dogs the way we treat human beings on the streets of San Francisco. Allowing people to destroy their health and their lives is not compassion, it's cruelty. Releasing people from jail without a plan to house and employ them is ignorant.
@chesaboudin and @HillaryRonen should be ashamed at the city they've built for us here in SF. What this city needs most of all is a mental health hospital and updated conservancy laws. A homeless 7 year old in Berkeley because his mother is incapable of providing for him? And before this gets misconstrued: it's right and good to have compassion and empathy for the people suffering on the street. We need to help them. Doing so shows empathy and compassion for all citizens (homeless and otherwise) living in the open air asylum otherwise known as SF
