I’ve investigated the return of (legal) Dublin bedsits. Findings: - 1 room studios that used to be €600 now cost €1,300 - some smaller than co-living rooms - marketed as “cozy” flats for young rich workers

Here's a Dublin property sale that will be watched with great interest. Having lain dormant and derelict for nearly 17 years, the former City Arts Centre is coming to the market. Former City Arts Centre lined up for €50m-plus sale

We’ve chosen a specific economic strategy which involves operating as a tax black hole for multinationals. If we didn’t have that strategy, we would have a different strategy. We don’t know what that would look like because we’ve never looked at an alternative.

In the conversation on multinationals, the one thing that really annoys me is the idea that somehow all of these multi-talented Irish people who work in Apple, Google, Intel etc would otherwise be on the dole or something

Department of Health spent €285,000 on security to guard their empty former headquarters at Hawkins House. They had been given intelligence from gardaí that an occupation similar to that which took place in Apollo House was "imminent"

Seems to be a new one of these inter-constituency spats cropping up every day at this stage. Not an encouraging sign:

And the watch itself. A Rolex Milgauss, so named apparently because it's capable of withstanding magnetic fields and was used by scientists at the famous CERN lab in Switzerland:

The Office of Public Works looked at the Rolex and said based on high street prices in Ireland, it was worth around €7,700:

Any gift, thought to be worth more than €650, has to be declared to the Secretary General of the Government. The Ceann Comhairle let them know shortly after returning from the UAE and the OPW were asked to provide a valuation:

Options for the gift included keeping it in the custody of the State, giving it "on loan to a person", selling it and returning the money to the Exchequer, or selling it and donating the money raised to charity:
