Great thread. Can you say a little about how this will affect rural-urban divide. Invisible China highlights problems of many kids not graduating high school in countryside. I wonder if move against Ed Tech will help or hinder drive to improve ed in villages and towns.

Hm, lots of angles there, but here's one: the move isn't about edtech - but about rapacious off-campus tutoring, which rural kids have little access to. There's still lots of support for legit schools running online classes to bring quality education to rural areas.
