One element of the anti-trust campaign has definitely centered not only on ending "monopolistic practices" but breaking down some monopolies on data itself - battleground for this has been Ant's consumer credit data.
Interestingly, had someone recently tell me that France does something similar with credit data, the government holds it, but I don't know much about that. Would welcome insights from anyone who has them.
