I said it in the @triviumchina Tip Sheet, and I'll say it again: all the int'l focus is on 5G, but domestically, broadband is just as important. There are multiple policy pushes to increase capacity + speed, and push connectivity to rural areas. Interesting today:
China's unis launch Future Internet Test Facility (未来互联网试验设施) for experimenting with next-gen backbone internet infrastructure, "the third biggest network after CERNET [for testing TCP/IP c. 1994] and CERNET2 [Web 2.0]." http://finance.people.com.cn/n1/2021/0421/c1004-32083188.html …

"The core nodes of the backbone network are distributed in 40 universities, ... and support 4096 large-scale test networks. Among them, the max bandwidth between the core nodes is up to 200g, and connects with domestic and foreign IPv4 / IPv6 test facilities."

Yikes: "In addition, the facilities ... also can support the next generation of Internet real source address verification systems. The system supports the accurate location and traceability of end system address on the Internet. ..."
