Tianjian's #socialcredit regs, finalized Dec 1, include a ban on the collection of facial recognition data (in relation to social credit) by market entities. What it means: Chinese regulators felt the need to specify that facial recognition and biometric data is not being collected as part of the SCS, partially due to recent outcry on biometric data collection in general, partially due to foreign community freakout over the SCS.
