All of these "secure" platforms are not. It's really silly of people to think a government that seeks to collect everything about it's own people will allow them to not be completely monitored.

Guess what. When you send messages from A (your phone) to B (recipient's phone), those messages have to go *THROUGH* an intermediary (C). If you don't control your own encryption keys, and let C do it on your behalf, then C can read - and store - all of your messages.

Yeah, um, or maybe it’s more important to take note that the press thinks so little of the importance of privacy/security in a democracy, that somehow this news isn’t important enough to write an article on, but instead just talk with their buddies on twitter about.
