I would say this didn't happen.
Except I have had investors and VCs tell me directly, to my face, that it will be harder for me to get investment as a straight white male, especially in Asia, and to send out my female Asian co-founder to pitch instead.

I’ve been to Sandton, a white enclave near Johannesburg. Housing organised in 100m square blocks surrounded by high walls & electrified wire, with a security guard on the gate
I though Tom Sharpe’s novels “Riotous Assembly” & “Indecent Exposure” summed up white S Africa perfectly
