What is strange to me after hearing that phone call where Paul Pelosi was CLEARLY being held hostage is why police didn't respond with more force. Total failure on their part.

I would guess Paul Pelosi had a beer in his hand to make his attacker believe he wasn't threatened by him and believed he was "Nancy's friend" or whatever he claimed. Nothing about that is strange to me—he was trying to protect himself by playing along. Horrible attack.
