I drove >800 miles across Iowa last week to really get a feel for what it's like to live without meaningful access to high-speed broadband. Peoples are coming up with their own creative solutions to ensure their neighbors have access. Here's the story:

23% of Iowans still don't have access to high speed internet -- and it's slowing economic growth in rural communities. "If my signal is gone, I can’t do my job."

While we all wait for a resolution in the clusterfuck that is the Iowa caucus, you should read this excellent report on internet access in the state:

While you're waiting to hear whether an app is responsible for Iowa's delay, maybe read 's in-person reporting on how some Iowans are still struggling to get high-speed internet?

Both political parties want to get rural online, but you can’t connect people if you don’t know where they are. This story is worth a read:

It's really similar in rural Indiana- even in 2018, when I was home from college on breaks, I'd have to drive into town to find a reliable internet connection to turn in digital assignments. There has to be a solution.

Another story I couldn’t include in its entirety was at Pyro’s Pride firework shop in Mitchell. Jeremy Mostek has it set up so you can scan this QR code to see what the fireworks do, but I couldn’t for the life of me get any of the videos to play!!!!
