For the third super bowl in a row I saw an "ugh don't call it sportsball" post before having seen any "lol sportsball" posts. That fragility from a position of dominance really steams my hams.

I see and empathise with your loved experience, but the qualm I take with “sportsball” is that it’s deployment is often emblematic of entrenched classism common in liberal academic spaces that correlates the interests of the working classes with poor character/low intelligence
