I didn’t think this was possible:
This App Store app immediately asks you for money and then *disables* the “Quit” option so that you can never close it!
And it’s been like that on the App Store for years!

IIRC it opens a modal window that can't be closed, and won't go even if you restart. Maybe force closing. Take a look at the reviews

The developer has grossed almost a million dollars on the App Store.

UPDATE: This developer "Music Paradise, LLC" appears to be the exact same developer as "Groove Vibes". Registered at the same street address in Novosibirsk, Russia!
Also, both apps lock up your Mac and can't be quit, which is what led me to investigate.

Apple gets their cut — why will they stop this madness? Side loading is bad for everyone lol. App store is setting a great example

Apple sells expensive hardware, moreso than its competitors, with the counterpart promise of material coherence and reliability, and their customers not being the actual product.
This kind of stunt is damaging for their image, which is essential to this business model.

How does this even get by app review, I mean seriously? I’ve been so nitpicked on stupid little things, and this is ok? Do the developers have like some hidden trigger to hide this behavior during review?

Yes, they have. Common methods seem to be location, simple date checking or turning on the behavior by gave no them check urls.
